Monthly Photography Assignment Rules

At our regularly scheduled meeting we will vote on all photographs submitted and a monthly winner will be chosen. At the end of the year all photos of the month will be voted on and a photo of the year will be chosen. Please visit our Photo of the Year page for more information.

The rules are as follows:

• All photographs must be submitted in 8×10 or 8×12 format only.
• $1 entry fee every month.
• Photos can not be matted or framed.
• You must include your name on the back of your photo.
• If there is any question about what direction your photo should go, please mark the back with an arrow pointing upwards.
• There will only be 1 Photo of the Month regardless of the amount of subject given.
• You are allowed only 1 entry into each subject for the month
• Photos must be received by the monthly meeting.
  • Photos can be dropped off with another member or to the President’s home.
• Voting will take place during our regularly scheduled meeting.
• Winning photograph will be displayed until the next scheduled meeting. It will then be kept until judging for photo of the year.
• All entries must then be emailed to potm@photokenosha.com in order to receive your extra points and to be entered into the Photo of the Month book for the year.
• Winning entry must also be emailed to info@photokenosha.com to be added to the website.

Scoring is as follows:

• 2 point for a photo submitted per subject
• 5 points for submitting entries to the chairperson for display in members online gallery by the next meeting night. Any photos submitted after the following meeting will receive no additional points.
• To try and keep the scoring more even for everyone we have changed the way we award points. In the past a winning photo could score many more points during one month if there were more members present than another month.
• Scoring is as follows
  • 1st place
    • 25 points
  • 2nd place
    • 15 points
  • 3rd place
    • 8 points
  • 4th place
    • 5 points
  • 5th place
    • 2 points
• We will have a tie breaker if needed for 1st place only. Any ties in 2nd through 5th will all receive points for that slot.
