Contest Rules

Monthly Photography Assignment Rules

At our regularly scheduled meeting we will vote on all photographs submitted and a monthly winner will be chosen. At the end of the year a Photo of the Year will be chosen from the monthly winners.  Please visit our Photo of the Year page for more information.

 The rules are as follows:

  • Topics are announced approximately 2 months before they are due and all photos must be taken within the 2-month period.

  • If any elements are added to an image they must be taken by the photographer within the same 2-month period.

  • All photographs must be submitted digitally. Longest length 2000 pixels & 72 DPI.

  • You are allowed only 1 entry per month unless a special event is being held.

  • Photos must be submitted via email to POTM_PKG@PHOTOKENOSHA.COM by 11:00pm Monday of the week of the monthly meeting.

  • Voting will take place during our regularly scheduled meeting.

  • All photograph’s will be displayed on the website.

Scoring is as follows:

  • 1st place – 20 total points

  • 2nd place – 15 total points

  • 3rd place – 10 total points

  • Entry Without Placement—3 total points

We will have a tie breaker if needed for 1st place only. Losing vote for 1st will become 2nd place.

Any ties in 2nd through 3rd will all receive points for that slot.

Photo of the Year

The Photo of the Year will only be open to Photo Challenge winners. All 12 challenge winning photographs will be displayed and a winning photo will be chosen. The winner will receive an award of recognition.  The winning photo will be added to the PKG website.

Photo of the Year Scoring is as follows:

  • Members will vote on all 12 Photos of the Month.

  • Tie will result in the same tie breaker as the monthly contests.

Photographers of the Year

All points awarded for The Photo Challenge and any extra points awarded throughout the year will be totaled. Awards and prizes will be presented at the annual Banquet.
